Influencing public policy on behalf of women for 70 years

Who We Are

Provincial Council of Women Manitoba

PCWM is a federation of Manitoba organizations and individuals concerned about the welfare of women, families and the society.

Acting in the public interest, PCWM presents well researched and respected Briefs to the Provincial Government on issues identified by our membership.

Western Canada has traditionally produced women committed to their communities who take leadership roles to improve the quality of life for families.  In 1894, ten Winnipeg women’s groups formed one of the first Local Councils of Women in Canada.

The Provincial Council of Women was formed in 1949. There are currently over 30 Federate Member Organizations.
